French Designer Vanessa Bruno Joins the Herd of Designers Stomping Toward Hollywood
She will follow on the heels of Vera Wang, Alice Temperley and the designers of Vionnet in heading to Southern California.
Fash Track just learned that French designer Vanessa Bruno, who's got a popular shop on Melrose Avenue east of LaCienega, is heading to town from Paris, where she will host a dinner on Nov. 9 in honor of the year anniversary of her Los Angeles boutique's opening. She'll also be doing interviews with media, and of course the requisite meetings with stylists.
As we've been telling you, there's simply an onslaught of fashion designers heading to Hollywood in the next few weeks, from Europe and New York. Aside from Vera Wang, Alice Temperley, Maria Cornejo and more -- following Yigal Azrouel and Burberry's Christoper Bailey and Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel -- all, we're assuming, taking meetings with stylists about awards season dressing.
This weekend, on Oct. 29, the designers behind Marchesa -- Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig -- and Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa will be at the Beverly Hills Hotel as part of one of the many international events surrounding the Dorchester Prize for fashion. The Beverly Hills Hotel is part of the Dorchester chain, which includes many luxury hotels including The Bel Air, and the group is giving an award to a promising new fashion designer, with major judges involved, including Marchesa and Costa.
Whew! We're tired just thinking about this, and feel the need for a new wardrobe.
