French industry teams for Filmo TV

Wild Bunch leads new VOD film offering

PARIS -- The French film industry has come together to launch Filmo TV, a new VOD service for film lovers unveiled Monday.

Subscribers to the new service can download an unlimited number of films from the catalogs of Wild Bunch, Bac Films, Warner Bros. TV, Pathe Distribution, Opening, Colmax and Wild Side for 9.99 euros ($14.55) per month or can opt to order individual titles for 2.99 euros ($4.35).

Fifty titles will be available Filmo TV launches Oct. 13, with 25 more to be added to the service every month -- downloadable to PC, TV or to a special Filmo TV reader.

Each feature film will be presented by a journalist or media personality who will discuss the movie, and give viewers access to interviews, background and bonus tracks.

Wild Bunch is Filmo TV's principal investor, alongside French cable operator Numericable and European digital technology powerhouse Arts Alliance Media.
