Friedman still a master of SPT games

Harry Friedman has inked a multiyear deal with Sony Pictures Television to continue executive producing the syndicated game shows "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!"

Friedman has been the executive producer of both shows since 1999. He joined "Wheel of Fortune" as a producer in 1995, adding producer duties for "Jeopardy!" two years later.

"Harry Friedman is an enthusiastic innovator, a wonderful collaborator and an extremely talented producer," SPT president Steve Mosko said. "His passion for television and his contributions to 'Wheel' and 'Jeopardy!' are unparalleled."

Friedman got his start working part time as a question writer on "Hollywood Squares" and ultimately wrote and produced more than 3,000 episodes of the game show.

He has won seven Emmys out of 28 total nominations. In January 2007, he received NATPE's Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award.

SPT produces "Wheel" and "Jeopardy!" which are distributed by CBS Television Distribution.
