Frisch upped to top lobbyist for WGA West
EmptyWGA West press liaison Jody Frisch has been promoted to director of public policy and government affairs, a post in which she will split her time between Los Angeles and Washington.
Frisch, who will serve as the guild's primary lobbyist, recently assumed her new responsibilities. A search is being conducted for a successor in the press slot at the WGAW.
"Jody's appointment represents a higher-profile presence in Washington for the guild at a time when the attention of lawmakers is increasingly focused on Hollywood," WGAW executive director David Young said. "Having worked closely with her this past year, she clearly possesses that rare mix of legislative and entertainment experience vital to representing the interests of writers in Washington."
Before joining the guild staff in the summer, Frisch was vp public affairs at the National Foreign Trade Council. She also has worked on several accounts for television clients of her former firm, Jody Frisch Public Relations.
