Fullenbach steps down from Canal post

PARIS -- Evi Fullenbach, head of cinema at Gallic pay TV group Canal Plus, is passing the torch just ahead of Friday's Cesar awards.

Manuel Alduy, in charge of French title acquisitions for Canal Plus, will serve as new head of cinema for pay TV networks Canal Plus, Canal Plus Cinema, TPS Star, thematic channels CineCinema, both French and foreign acquisitions and relations with film industry professionals.

Franck Weber, responsible for the group's cinema editorial content, will succeed Alduy as head of French film acquisitions.

A graduate of France's prestigious H.E.C. business school and Columbia University in New York, Alduy joined the Canal Plus group in 2001 as head of strategy and development for the group's thematic channels, then took the reins as head of CineCinema in 2003 before being named head of acquisitions for French titles in 2005.

Weber ran Canal Plus' Web site from 2000-2003, then joined Fullenbach in international acquisitions for the group before managing the group's editorial content as of 2005.

Fullenbach cites "personal reasons" for her departure according to a statement Tuesday.  She will be keeping her role as adviser for the group with U.S. studios.
