Fulsom to handle Cineplex film buying


TORONTO -- Canadian exhibition giant Cineplex Entertainment has promoted Jason Fulsom to vp film buying, charged with the acquisition of product from the major studios and independent distributors.

Fulsom, most recently executive director of film programming at Cineplex, will negotiate and program films for multiplexes in the Toronto market, the company said Wednesday.

Toronto-based Cineplex, which controls a 64% share of the domestic exhibition market, acquires film product for screening in 128 theaters with 1,290 screens nationwide.

Fulsom will report to Michael Kennedy, executive vp filmed entertainment.
