FYI Renews 'Tiny House Nation,' Orders Spinoff

Both series get 13-episode orders for winter launches

FYI has renewed Tiny House Nation for a second season and ordered a new series, Tiny House Hunting.

The A+E Networks-owned cable network has greenlighted 13 hourlong episodes for both Tiny House Nation and Tiny House Hunting. They will launch this winter, with production beginning immediately.

Season one of Tiny House Nation improved the time-period average 37 percent in total viewers and 48 percent among adults 25-54 compared to last year's BIO Channel average before the rebrand.

“The tiny house movement is taking off across the country and we’re proud to be the first network to capture it,” said Gena McCarthy, senior vp president and development at FYI. “FYI opened viewers’ eyes to the cultural phenomenon of dramatically downsizing with Tiny House Nation and we’ll delve deeper into that process with Tiny House Hunting.

Tiny House Nation follows host John Weisbarth and renovation expert Zack Giffin as they travel across the U.S. to show off ingenious small spaces and the inventive people who live in them. Along the way they help families design and construct their own mini dream homes, no larger than 500 sq. ft.

Executive producers are McCarthy, Toby Faulkner, James Bolosh, Brent Montgomery, Nick Rigg and Shawn Witt.

Tiny House Hunting follows realtors as they help a pair of tiny home seekers find the perfect existing mini home for their family. Executive producers are McCarthy, Bolosh, Montgomery, Rigg and Witt.

Both series are produced by Loud TV.

The news comes after FYI renewed its first series, Married at First Sight, in August.
