Gal Gadot Wears Affordable Flats to 'Wonder Woman' Premiere
Superheroes prefer comfort, too.
Gal Gadot attended the Wonder Woman premiere in L.A. on Thursday, looking wondrous in a red Givenchy gown by Riccardo Tisci. Styled by THR power stylist Elizabeth Stewart, the actress and new mom paired her shimmery dress with a pair of rhinestone-adorned gold flat sandals from Aldo (available for $50 online).
Though it's not unheard of for actresses to opt for flat shoes on the step-and-repeat (who can forget the controversial Cannes #Flatgate debacle in 2015?), it's still unusual. And the Israeli actress has been wearing flat footwear consistently in the last week while promoting her upcoming superhero film.
On Tuesday, the actress arrived for Good Morning America in a cobalt blue Diane von Furstenberg knit peplum top and matching skirt with Christian Louboutin black leather peep-toe flats with stud details. Later that day, she changed into a rosy pink dress and black pointy toe flats (also by Louboutin), before switching back to the peep-toe flats when speaking at the AOL Build Series.
Gadot's decision to opt for flats could simply be for the comfort factor, rather than trying to make a pointed commentary on double standards. She took to Instagram on Monday to post a photo of herself laying down on a bed of what appears to be inside a private jet, adding the caption, "I guess throwing my back out wasn't such a bad idea after all. This is how I always want to travel!! Ok guys, I'm ready for this press tour. Are you?!"
Just the week before, Gadot promoted her movie in Shanghai wearing a David Koma gown with black strappy heels. She also wore a pair of black Roger Vivier pointy toe heels at the MTV Movie and TV Awards earlier this month.
Whatever the case may be, Wonder Woman can wear whatever she wants.
