The red-carpet gala on March 18 will be the first time the HBO series has held its season premiere in Europe.

Westeros is heading to London.

For the rabidly anticipated season five premiere of Game of Thrones, pan-European pay TV group Sky's Sky Atlantic will host a red-carpet gala at the Tower of London in the British capital.

The premiere, on March 18, will mark the first time a season of the HBO fantasy series has debuted in Europe ahead of the U.S. Sky is HBO's pay TV partner in Western Europe and airs Game of Thrones across its markets in the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy.

“Across Europe Game of Thrones is loved by Sky customers and a brand-defining show for Sky Atlantic,” said Gary Davey, Sky’s managing director of content, in a statement. “As the exclusive home of Game of Thrones in our home markets, it's tremendously exciting for Sky to host the first world premiere in Europe with our partners from HBO.”

HBO will premiere season five of Game of Thrones in the U.S. on April 12.
