Written by 'The Missing' duo Harry and Jack Williams, the six-part series will also star Jodi Balfour.

The prolific streak of The Missing writing duo Harry and Jack Williams doesn't look like it's ending any time soon.

Just a day after ITV revealed it had commissioned the British brothers' eight-part drama The Widow, another major project from the pair has begun production and added Richard Dormer (Game of ThronesFortitude) as a lead.

The BBC and Cinemax project Rellik, produced by the Williams' Two Brothers Pictures alongside New Pictures, is a six-part thriller that will tell the story of a serial killer in reverse, with the drama moving backwards in time to the very beginning.

Dormer will star as the damaged and disfigured Met detective Gabriel Markham, who is propelled in an obsessive hunt for a serial killer who left a mark on him both physically and charismatic. His bright and intense detective partner Elaine will be played by Jodi Balfour (The Crown, Bomb Girls), while Rosalind Eleazar, Paterson Joseph, Paul Rhys, Michael Shaeffer and Lærke Winther are also among the cast.

“We are really pleased to be working with the BBC again and to be partnering with Cinemax for the first time," the Williams brothers said in a statement. "Rellik is a dark thriller tonally very different to anything we’ve done before and we’re looking forward to bringing it to the screen."

Rellik's executive producers include Willow Grylls, Charlie Pattinson and Elaine Pyke for New Pictures, the Williams for Two Brothers Pictures and Christopher Aird for the BBC. Sam Miller (Guerrilla, Luther) is the lead director and exec producer, with Hans Herbots also directing, while is Chris Clough producing.
