Charles Dance Says He's Not Done With 'Game of Thrones' Just Yet

Tywin Lannister

Last episode: "The Children"
Cause of death: Two arrows to the chest... on the toilet

The Elvis of King's Landing, the Hand of the King (Charles Dance) died on the royal commode -- and at the hand of his own son. Tyrion could handle the decades of resentment, being framed for murder and even an execution sentence, but hooking up with his ex-girlfriend/prostitute proved too much. He killed his father over the pot, leaving Westeros with one less antagonist.

"You haven't seen the last of Tywin"

Could Tywin Lannister be plotting a comeback?

According to star Charles Dance, his character is not entirely out of the Game of Thrones universe, despite having suffered a gruesome death in the season-four finale.

"I'm not completely missing out on the next series," Dance told MTV UK. "You haven't seen the last of Tywin Lannister is all I'll say."

HBO declined to comment.

If Tywin does return, we assume it'd be in a flashback, though Thrones has steered clear of flashback territory so far.

Book readers will know after his father's death, Jaime spends a good deal of time trying to figure out how to become a good leader — imagining what his father would do, while Tyrion keeps hearing some of Tywin's final words before being killed.

Sean Bean has floated the idea that Eddard Stark could return in a flashback to possibly address that infamous R+L=J theory. Recently, an even wilder theory hit the Internet involving the idea that Tywin was not actually Tyrion's father, though if it turns out to be true, it'd be unlikely the show would reveal this before the book.

In addition to a bevy of new castmembers, season five will apparently not feature at least one beloved member of the team. Hodor actor Kristian Nair said earlier this month that he was taking the season off. The comments implied Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran) would also sit the season out, though Hempstead Wright has since said that Bran will be appearing.
