New blood led the nominations for the 2015 Television Critics Association Awards.
Freshman series Empire (FOX) and Transparent (Amazon) topped the nominations with four each, including program of the year. Fellow rookie Jane the Virgin (The CW) followed with three nominations, as did spy drama The Americans (FX) and departing series Mad Men (AMC), the latter two also earned nominations for program of the year.
HBO’s Game of Thrones rounds out the nominees for program of the year.
Other new series that received nominations include AMC’s Better Call Saul, Starz’s The Chair, The CW’s The Flash, ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder and Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
The awards are voted on by television critics across the country. Winners for the 31st annual TCA awards will be announced Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel during the TCA summer press tour.
