The makeup and hairstyling team of Lesley Vanderwalt, Elka Wardega and Damian Martin won their first Oscar for George Miller’s postapocalyptic actioner Mad Max: Fury Road.
Vanderwalt previously worked with Miller on several films including Babe and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
Mad Max: Fury Road also received a BAFTA for makeup and hairstyling, as well as two trophies at the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards.
Mad Max topped a field in makeup and hairstyling that also included nominees The Revenant and Swedish comedy The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.
