Blake Lively dressed her baby bump to perfection at the Angel Ball in New York on Monday. Dressed in head-to-toe Gucci, she paired a pale yellow gown with a crystal-embellished deep V neckline with the Italian label’s “Naomi” ankle-zip stiletto sandal in taupe suede. This mama-to-be had no problem standing in the pin-thin, 4½-inch strappy stilettos with crystal adornments.
The actress-model, represented by Next Management, stepped out in London Saturday night for the premiere of her new film, Rosie. The ever-so-chic Waterhouse donned a cream Burberry pantsuit with white Suprega flatforms for a sensationally fresh take on the carpet. “The flatforms give a suit a comfy tomboy edge. If you can get away with looking smart and wearing trainers you should. They have this nice subtle height lift — and feel better than heels,” Waterhouse told Pret-a-Reporter. “I feel so laid-back when I wear them.” With Lily Allen in chunky Chelsea flat boots and Waterhouse in flatform kicks, sounds like everyone is staying grounded this season — and we don’t mind.
Idina Menzel hit the red carpet on Tuesday evening before entertaining the audience of the Hearst Magazines Magfront: Unbound Access 2015 with a live a capella performance of “Defying Gravity.” Looking lovely in a Lela Rose floral cocktail dress, she went with strong green shoes from Brazilian brand Schutz that reflected Menzel’s fun and risk-taking attitude. Her stylist Kemal Harris said of her decision to pair the look with statement-making stilettos: “I was looking for a classic pump in a fun color to play off this abstract floral print Lela Rose dress when I saw the green suede Schutz heel. I wish I could order it in every color!”
The Hart of Dixie star has been alternating between her silver metallic and black patent Gizeh Birkenstocks during the last months of her pregnancy. These extremely on-trend, practical cork-soled sandals have a deep heel cup and tons of arch support, not to mention a very chic thong silhouette. Upon seeing Bilson in these shoes, Birkenstock rep Matt Hundley described her look as “both fresh and classic, and it’s especially exciting to be supporting those feet at such a special and important time in her life.”
Sarah Hyland is hitting all the fashion marks these days, especially when she stepped out in New York on Tuesday in four different outfits to promote the ASPCA. During her Good Morning America appearance, we couldn’t help but notice her Rebecca Minkoff Elle chunky zip-up platform with treaded soles in persimmon suede – giving us the sense that she’s defining her independence and level of maturity via shoe. According to her stylist Brad Goreski, he wanted to pair her high-waisted Issa pants, sexy DKNY blouse and graphic black-and-white coat with a shoe that would really complete her look. “The Rebecca Minkoff thick-soled sandal is the star of the ensemble — it really grounds the whole look. The color is perfection, and it added just the right amount of height. A heel would have looked really sweet, but this shoe gives the look an unexpected twist,” shared Goreski. Minkoff herself noted: “Our Elle platform is a flattering addition to Sarah’s wide-leg trousers. I love the way this shoe elongates her legs!” And with that, we may have to crown the Modern Family actress as the winner of this week in shoes.
