It’s impossible to ignore this look — or Jared Leto, for that matter — especially when it comes to the white oxfords. Leto, who’s still going strong with those long flowing locks, took wingtips to new heights by choosing to pair the Christian Louboutin “New Plater” wingtips with his all-black ensemble at this year’s Hollywood Film Awards. And with a white rose boutonniere (yes, that’s a man-corsage) to match his chalk-white, pointy-toe laceups, it’s clear that the actor plays by his own rules when it comes to fashion.
In a week of fab footwear, Christina Hendricks takes the crown with her selection of an elegant shoe newcomer Bionda Castana at the 2014 CNN Heroes event on Wednesday. A bottle-green, off-the-shoulder Zac Posen cocktail dress fit her to a T, and the almost five-inch high emerald satin single-sole stilettos with a gold lace overlay took the ensemble to the next level. The brand’s designer, Natalia Barbieri, said of the look: “Emerald green is a decadent, luxurious tone and her look felt very ‘festive’ which I loved. Christina is a very powerful, intelligent, effortless woman. It’s always such a humbling moment when we see her wearing the brand, especially when she has so much choice in footwear brands. It’s a honour.” We couldn’t agree more.
On the left coast, Leighton Meester stepped out in a black and white Cushnie et Ochs dress hot off the runway from their spring 2015 collection on Wednesday for the Life Partners NY premiere. To add even more oomph to her striped-pattern frock, she finished the look with black “Iman” pointy-toe single-sole stilettos with an ankle strap by Oscar Tiye — another newcomer in footwear. Designed by Amina Muaddi, the line features lots of cushioning — perfect for the red carpet. “I was so thrilled to see Leighton wearing my ‘Iman’ heels,” said Muaddi. “She has great fashion sense and I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to represent the collection.”
Riley Keough has been stepping up her fashion game lately and her appearance at the Whitney Gala was no exception. While others arrived in ball gowns, Keough chose a decidedly more cool silhouette in a Louis Vuitton knee-length, mesh-detailed dress. Though the look could have easily gone too precious, her LV knee-high, chunky-heeled boots kept the look grounded and uber-chic.
Multihyphenate Nikki Reed was out and about Thursday night at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle’s 2015 Golden Globe Award Season event, standing out in a red Sachin and Babi lace cocktail dress and gold metallic Monique Lhullier four-inch, ankle-strap stilettos. The intricate scallop-strap detailing on these kicks took the ensemble in a very regal direction. Lhullier, whose fashion empire includes everything from fine jewelry to bridal gowns and now, a collaboration with Goop, has become a red-carpet fave in the last decade and we can hardly wait to see her latest creations this upcoming awards season – shoes and dresses alike.
