Instead of opting for the usual pumps and stilettos, Jena Malone surprised us in the best way possible with her red-carpet kicks at this Monday’s St. Vincent premiere in New York. Dressed in a red and white Valentino minidress, the actress — who appropriately enough is also the lead singer for her band called The Shoe — paired the look with mid-calf shiny patent red booties from Tamara Mellon. Her stylist, Karla Welch, tells us the spirited shoe was chosen for “how sexy and mod they are — fun to be bold!”

In a week filled with impressive shoe choices, Naomi Watts stood out with her pick. With a distinct style that lends a sense of confidence, Watts always looks comfortable in her own skin and with her sartorial selections. When it comes to footwear, her taste is no different, opting for clean, classic lines and silhouettes, while still illuminating a playful side, as well, incorporating different materials and textures. For the St. Vincent New York premiere on Monday, the actress wore a Jason Wu bias-cut open-back cocktail dress with Christian Louboutin “Iriza” D’orsay stiletto in silver mirror metallic. Jeannann Williams, who styled Watts, weighed in on the sexy steppers: “We originally had the safe choice, a nude single strap sandal, but it just made the look feel too ‘done’ — a bit boring. We wanted it to feel more fall, New York, edgy. The silver pump did just that and it was a comfortable heel height. The silver really popped against the nude.”
Taylor Swift (Photo: Rex USA)
Taylor Swift was on point this week in London, as she stepped out for an appearance at the BBC on Wednesday. Clad in an ink-navy two-piece knit ensemble from Tanya Taylor, she chose Giuseppe Zanotti to add a pop of color. These shoes must have become a favorite for her — she was first spotted wearing them a few weeks ago in a commercial shoot. The pink bubblegum suede ankle-strap, four-and-three-quarter-inch platform stilettos were the perfect thing to spice things up on a drab day in London. Swift, who’s been named the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year, completed the look with a hot pink lip.
Keira Knightley (Photo: Rex USA)
Keira Knightley stepped out for a photocall in London for The Imitation Game on Wednesday, pairing a straight-off-the-runway red embroidered midi-length Valentino dress with “Auspicious Debbie” stilettos from Charlotte Olympia. While the dress easily could have gone boho-chic, these four-and-a-half-inch platform Onyx silk stilettos with rich embroidery and gold platform took the look in an entirely elegant direction instead. Could her shoe choice belie a move toward a more mature seriousness since she’s settled down? Or are they just the next natural thing in an ever-evolving style journey? We shall see.

Rounding out the A-list week, Demi Moore stepped out in a divine silk printed Donna Karan dress for the 5th Annual PSLA Party, looking absolutely radiant. Along with her black leather Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps, she proved that black pumps are back in full effect – while being absolutely anything but basic.
