Meghan Trainor killed it for her first Country Music Awards performance, doing a duet with Miranda Lambert. Donning a blue lace above-the-knee Monique Lhuillier cocktail creation for the red carpet, Trainor paired her dress with five-and-a-half-inch “Passarello” stiletto platforms from Aldo. The silver shoes — a departure from the usual black, chunky-heeled boots she wears during performances — were chosen by Trainor herself. She shares, “I love glitter and sparkles and thought they were the perfect complement to the amazing blue Monique Lhuillier dress.” Yep, we’re all about this bass.

Beyonce stepped out with Blue Ivy in New York, wearing creations from one of her favorite shoe designers, Ruthie Davis. Not only do the vegan stiletto pumps feature fun designs, there’s also a philanthropic mission behind them. Davis, who is a dog and animal lover, partnered with acclaimed designer and cruelty-free ambassador John Bartlett to create a camo-print in waxed canvas of Bartlett’s three-legged rescue pit bull, Tiny Tim; 10 percent of the sales proceeds go to the Tiny Tim Rescue Fund, which finds homes for dogs that are in kill shelters. We love that Queen Bey chose shoes that not only look good, but do good too. “It was the perfect synergy for me to begin my vegan range in a modern, architectural pump, while supporting his animal rescue charity,” shared Davis. Ah, the power of the shoe.
CAMILLA BELLE (Photo: Associated Press; Inset: Gucci)
Camilla Belle, always looking impeccable with her Elizabeth Taylor-esque features, wowed the red carpet with her head-to-toe Gucci ensemble at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. She donned a pale blue matte silk Gucci 2015 cruise gown with silver crystal embellished details and paired it with a metallic silver box clutch and Gucci Horsebit cocktail earrings, bracelet and ring in white gold, diamond and lilac quartz. But the coup d’etat of the elegant ensemble? The shoes, of course. She stepped out in silver metallic six-inch platform stilettos with an ankle strap (and a hidden metal Gucci logo under the arch of the shoe). Come awards season, don’t be shocked if you see these towering creations take over the carpet.
ANNA WINTOUR (Photo: Evan Agostini/Invision/AP)
Anna Wintour stepped out at the CFDA Fashion Fund Awards wearing her signature Manolo Blahnik “Botti” shoes. Blahnik custom-created the design for Wintour back in 1986 based on a flat shoe he transformed into a heel — and these unique creations are not available in stores. It only makes sense that the doyenne of fashion has a shoe made only for her, and also belies a bit of practicality in her nature — she found the shoe she loves and sticks with it, owning versions of it in different colors and materials for whatever occasion presents itself. The designer noted, “It is a huge privilege to have Ms. Wintour wear my shoes. Without her wearing them, I would probably not be where I am today in America. I am so grateful.” Shoes (and a shoe designer) are a girl’s best friend, indeed.
ADRIANA LIMA (Photo: KGC-146/STAR MAX/IPx; Inset: Giuseppe Zanotti)
Brazilian bombshell Adriana Lima donned Giuseppe Zanotti stiletto sandals for her Good Morning America appearance, where she modeled Victoria’s Secret fantasy bras with gal pal Alessandra Ambrosio (who went with the classic Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” black pump), Lima showcased the $2 million lingerie creation with panache. These pumps, which are part of Zanotti’s “Disco Music” collection, indulged her rocker side with its hard gold metallic detailing. “I am very glad when Adriana Lima wears one of my creations. She is extremely beautiful, charming and she rocks in my shoes,” Zanotti told us. “This pair perfectly embodies that rocking spirit.”
