One of South Mapleton Drive’s biggest pocket listings has just closed, sources familiar with the deal tell The Hollywood Reporter. It’s been dubbed The Fendi Casa because the 30,000-square-foot spec home is entirely furnished in Fendi furniture and accessories. The property has sold for “somewhat below” its asking price of $65 million to an unidentified Saudi buyer, according to one insider.
Developed by former film producer turned A-list spec home builder Nile Niami, the man behind many of the Bird Street’s biggest structures (including the 8,000-square-foot contemporary on Tanager purchased by the Winklevoss brothers for $18 million in 2012), this Holmby Hills project took spec-home building to a new level.

Located on 1.38 acres at the corner of South Mapleton Drive and Charing Cross Road, the estate features eight bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, indoor and outdoor pools and a bowling alley, as well as fully functional, basement-level dental offices and an operating room. Los Angeles-based artist Retna was commissioned to create specific pieces throughout the house. All furnishings and artwork were included in the purchase.
The property was completed in late 2013 and now joins the ranks of other recent mega Mapleton deals, including Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt‘s $22 million purchase of Gregory Peck‘s former family home in February of this year, as well as Ellen DeGeneres‘ latest real estate acquisition, the worshipped Brody House on Mapleton, which she bought for $40 million in January of this year.
Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland represented the seller and could not be reached for comment. Andrew Clark of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer and declined comment.
