A Good Day to Die Hard One Sheet - P 2012
20th Century Fox’s A Good Day to Die Hard will be the studio’s fourth major release in Dolby Atmos, following Taken 2, Chasing Mavericks and Life of Pi. The film opens Feb. 14 in the U.S.
The fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise will be mixed in Atmos in the Zanuck Theatre on the Fox lot.
On Thursday, Dolby also revealed that two international films, the German 3D mystery thriller Lost Place and the British crime thriller Trance will be mixed and released in its new immersive sound format.
Rerecording mixer Holger Lehmann and supervising sound editor Martin Fruhmorgen will lead the Dolby Atmos mix of Lost Place at the Rotor Film Babelsberg postproduction facility on the Studio Babelsberg lot near Berlin.
Lost Place is produced by MovieBrats Films & Animation, in co-production with Dragonfly Films, NFP marketing and distribution and SPB Stereo Post Production and distributed by NFP in association with Warner Bros. It is scheduled for release April 11 in Germany, and it also will be screened next month at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Trance will be mixed in Atmos in the Powell Theatre at the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios by supervising sound editor and sound designer Glenn Freemantle along with rerecording mixers Ian Tapp and Niv Adiri. The mix is scheduled for mid-January.
Produced by Fox Searchlight, Trance will be distributed by Fox internationally, with Pathe distributing the film in the U.K. and France.
