Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the latest star to join the assassin action-thriller Bullet Train.
Brad Pitt leads the Sony movie from John Wick director David Leitch, with Joey King also attached to star.
Based on the popular Japanese book Maria Beetle by Kotaro Isaka, Bullet Train centers on a group of hitmen and assassins with conflicting motives on a train in Tokyo. Sources say that Pitt will play an American hitman named Ladybug, King will play an unassuming teenaged assassin named Prince and Taylor-Johnson’s assassin is named Tangerine.
Leitch is overseeing the rewrite of the script by Zak Olkewicz (Fear Street), with the project being a high priority for the studio.
Antoine Fuqua, who originally developed the project, is producing alongside Leitch and Kelly McCormick via their 87 North banner, as well as Kat Samick. Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada, co-founders of CTB Inc., who represent Isaka and the intellectual property, are acting as executive producers on the project.
Taylor-Johnson is currently in theaters with Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and is due to return to the cineplex with the delayed Matthew Vaughn feature The King’s Man.
Johnson is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Sloane Offer.
