On the heels of a No. 1 weekend at the box office, FX has closed a deal for the TV rights to Relativity’s Act of Valor.

The government-endorsed film featuring real-life Navy SEALs took the weekend crown with a $24.7 million opening. Valor, produced by the Bandito Brothers, was responsible for leading another boom weekend at the domestic box office with revenues up more than 25 percent from the previous year.
This deal marks the sixth No. 1 box office film for which the News Corp.-owned cable network has secured the commercial television premiere rights this year. Sony’s The Vow; Universal’s Contraband and Fox’s Chronicle are among the other chart-topping movies FX has nabbed.
