Agent Sheila Wenzel is no longer at Innovative Artists, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Wenzel was part of Rose McGowan‘s team at the agency, but a spokesperson for Innovative tells THR that Wenzel’s exit was set prior to the Charmed actress’ now-infamous June 17 tweet, in which she called out a sexist wardrobe casting note for a project that McGowan later confirmed was an Adam Sandler movie:
casting note that came w/script I got today. For real. name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler hahahaha I die pic.twitter.com/lCWGTV537t

Innovative employees had been notified of Wenzel’s departure in a June 16 internal email, but her exit did not become publicly known until McGowan announced on Twitter last night that her “wussy acting agent” had dropped her:
I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood. Hahaha. #douchebags #awesome #BRINGIT

Other than Wenzel, McGowan’s other listed Innovative rep was Steve Muller. Muller did not return a call for comment.
Wenzel was on the agent teams for many of Innovative’s top clients, including Amanda Seyfried, Katee Sackhoff and Britt Robertson. It’s unclear where the veteran agent is headed next, and which of her clientele – including McGowan – will follow.
On Thursday afternoon, Innovative issued a statement: “Sheila Wenzel, Rose McGowan’s primary agent, parted ways with Innovative before McGowan’s tweet yesterday. Wenzel was not the primary agent for Amanda Seyfried and Britt Robertson.”
Meanwhile, Wenzel and McGowan have expressed support for one another via their Twitter accounts, with the actress posting today:
Sheila Wenzel is a wonderful agent that ceased working with Innovative before my firing. She’s a good, strong woman I’m proud to know.
