Air Bnb The Grove Final Rendering - H 2013
This weekend, Airbnb — the design-driven vacation rental website — is debuting five temporary “pop-up” locations throughout Los Angeles, with a clever Hollywood hook. Dubbed the Hello LA campaign, the four-day event takes the concept of the celebrity home into new territory.
Airbnb has installed five freestanding pre-fab studios by manufacturer Kithaus throughout the city, and tapped people like James Franco, Anjelica Huston, Moby, Molly Sims and Lake Bell to “curate” the stylish spaces. The celebrities worked in tandem with designers to create spaces that are unique to their personality and vision.

And now the welcome mat is (mostly) out.
While Huston’s Friday event is a a private farm-to-table dinner created by notable chefs and mixologists from Venice at Cooks Garden by HGEL on Abbott Kinney in Venice, a pre-dinner event will be open to the public to check out the Airbnb pop-up.
On Saturday, Moby will host a Daft Punk v LCD Soundsystem Silent Disco at Viper Room in West Hollywood with Silent Frisco, a headphone-wearing dance party. Those in attendance will be the first to hear tracks from Moby’s new album, innocents. The pop-up space is adjacent to the venue.

Lake and mother Robin Bell will offer tours of their celebrity-designed pop-up, which will include artwork from Lake’s husband, Scott Campbell. The space will be at the Arts District in downtown L.A. on Sunday.
At the Park at the Grove in West Hollywood, Sims will host an Old Hollywood Lawn Party at her pop-up, complete with games, pop-up performances, photo booths and special giveaways. The event takes places Monday.
Franco’s curated space is at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, though he will not be able to attend the Station to Station event, which will feature music from L.A.-based recording artist Ariel Pink.
