Alan Alda to Appear on Showtime’s ‘The Big C’

The Emmy-winning actor will play an oncologist in one episode.

Emmy-winning actor Alan Alda will guest star on Showtime’s dark comedy, The Big C.

Alda, best known for playing army hospital doc Hawkeye Pierce on M*A*S*H, will appear in one episode as Dr. Atticus Sherman, an oncologist who Cathy (Laura Linney) consults after her previous treatment failed.

The Big C is currently filming in Stamford, Conn. and will debut its second season June 27 at 10:30 p.m. following the Weeds premiere.
