Getty ImagesAlan Cumming (The Good Wife, X2) will host this year’s International Emmy Awards, to be held Nov. 21 in New York.
The multi-talented Scottish actor has found eclectic success on stage, screen and television. He has won a Tony and Britain’s acclaimed Olivier Award for his theater work, received two Golden Globe and three Primetime Emmy nominations for his performance as political powerbroker Eli Gold in The Good Wife and carved out a Hollywood career with appearances in films such as Bryan Singer’s X2 and Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids franchise.
Cumming currently is appearing onstage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a one-man cabaret show: Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs!, running through Aug. 27.

The International Emmys honor excellence in television programming produced outside the U.S. This year’s event will include two special awards: Uber-producer Shonda Rhimes will receive the 2016 International Emmy Founders Award, and Maria Rorbye Ronn, CEO of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and one of the driving forces behind the global Nordic Noir boom, will receive the 2016 International Emmy Directorate Award.
