Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has launched a Twitch channel to play online video game Among Us and encourage viewers to vote in the election.
Cortez tweeted her interest in playing on Oct. 19, noting, “I’ve never played but it looks like a lot of fun.” Many streamers and gaming organizations responded, including FaZe Clan, Pokimane, Grand Poo Bear, Disguised Toast and Felicia Day.
Later that day, Cortez tweeted that her plan is to go live on Tuesday. “Spent tonight setting up accounts, mods, streaming & run throughs. Hoping to go live tomorrow night,” wrote the Congresswoman on Twitter.
Her Twitch channel already has 220,000 followers, despite no videos being posted yet. She will go live at 9 p.m. EST on Tuesday, with streamers including Pokimane and Hasanabi.
Anyone want to play Among Us with me on Twitch to get out the vote? (I’ve never played but it looks like a lot of fun)
