Designer Stacey Bendet’s 14-year-old brand, Alice + Olivia, is known for its feminine, almost fairytale-like designs. But for her newest capsule collection, Bendet is channeling a bit of a grungier aesthetic: cult-rock sensation The Grateful Dead. Yes, the legendary band is getting the high-fashion treatment for a new collaborative collection inspired by the group’s memorabilia and set to debut in April.
The designer’s idea for the collection stems from her producer husband Eric Eisner’s latest project. The son of former Disney CEO Michael Eisner is co-producing a new Grateful Dead documentary alongside Martin Scorcese, among others, and Bendet suggested the collection to serve as a precursor to the film’s release.

Deadheads will be happy to discover that there are plenty of the band’s iconic bears woven into the collection — but, of course, with Bendet’s own personal, whimsical touch. The colorful creatures are outfitted in oversized black shades throughout the line, which ranges from $165 to $1,298, and includes a knit tee with leather fringe, an embellished ball-gown skirt and even dancing-bear leather sneakers.
The full collection will be available in Alice + Olivia stores as well as on the brand’s website in April.
