
The Tim Burton-directed film was a sleeper hit, grossing $334.2 million in North America and $690.1 million at the international box office. The film teamed Burton with two of his go-two actors—Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, as well as Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway.

Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska are reteaming for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland 2, which will hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend in 2016.
Disney announced the news officially Friday, setting a May 27 release for Alice 2, which will be directed by James Bobin. Joe Roth, Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd are producing.

The first Alice was a runaway hit at the global box office, grossing $1.02 billion in 2010.
In another high-profile move, Disney set an Oct. 9, 2015, release date for Jon Favreau‘s Jungle Book. He’ll direct the live-action pic from a script by Justin Marks.
