It’s a night of firsts for Allison Janney as she took home her first Oscar for best supporting actress for I, Tonya during Sunday’s 90th annual Academy Awards.
The ceremony marks Janney’s first time attending the ceremony as a nominee. “I did it all by myself,” the actress immediately quipped upon accepting her award.
Janney, who explained that she “did not see this coming,” also took a moment to thank her fellow nominees, “You represent everything that is good and right and human about this profession.”
Though a first for her, the Oscar is just another addition to Janney’s trophy case of awards she has won this season including a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics’ Choice Award and Independent Spirit Award for her role as Tonya Harding’s allegedly abusive mother.
Jimmy Kimmel returned as host of the Oscars, which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
