Allison Janney took home an award for Best Guest Performer at the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards last Thursday, summoning the spirit of the 1960s with her emerald (which photographed near-chartreuse) Manolo Blahnik “Hangisi” satin stilettos, which boast a square crystal shoe buckle. This elegant throwback statement on her feet complemented her slinky liquid metallic minidress for an overall spot-on effect.

Lupita Nyong’o is keeping the style train steaming straight ahead after donning a pair of Sophia Webster single-sole, red satin stilettos with rose gold and enamel heel embellishment at the CFDA Awards on June 2. She then headed to the Maui Film Festival and matched a pair of single-sole, tri-color (navy, aqua and white) strappy stilettos back to her aqua-and-red tank dress for opening night. Of course, being the style icon that she is, she didn’t hold back with her nail lacquer either, further coordinating her pedi in a pale aqua blue.

Princess Beatrice (left) and Princess Eugenie
These two must be sharing style secrets. Princess Eugenie headed to the HRH Garden party at Buckingham Palace on June 12 in a pair of Jerome C. Rousseau “Porto Gila” pointy-toe, black and white mid-heel pumps and one of his classic Jem clutches. Chatting away with Princess Beatrice, we’re wondering if they were really talking shoe choices as they headed in to the party?
Princess Beatrice has upped her style game considerably of late, and the opening day of the Royal Ascot on June 17 was no exception. Though she sank her stilettos into the grass for much of the day, there was no denying the power of her Jerome C. Rousseau shoe choice. The press was so taken with them they couldn’t resist a close-up of these shoes, and for good reason. These multicolored, single-sole velvet pumps featured a glitter toe cap and Rousseau’s iconic thorn heel. Rousseau was tickled to see his creations so embraced by the royals and admitted it’s a different feeling than seeing a celebrity in his shoes, “definitely exciting!” he noted.

Olivia Wilde, one of Rousseau’s staunch stateside supporters, couldn’t resist a pair of his poppy suede peep-toe stilettos to leave her David Letterman appearance last Tuesday. This punch of color perfectly complemented her striped jersey dress, and the elegant open waist inside cut of this shoe emphasizes the sexiness of the arch. “Olivia is massively talented and has taken strong positions on equality of women in the film industry, conscious commerce, awareness to world poverty, and support for the LGBT community — which makes it a huge honor for me when she chooses to wear my shoes,” says the shoe designer. Bold shoes, bold life choices. Enough said.
