Citing demand from members of the entertainment industry traveling to the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, American Airlines is adding nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Toronto during the event.
The flights will operate daily Sept. 7-14, with two morning departures from LAX and two late afternoon and early evening departures from Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The second flights from both cities will be flown on American’s Airbus A321T aircraft, the only domestic airliner configured with dedicated first- and business-class cabins, used on the airline’s premier LAX-JFK transcontinental service.
Passengers booked in premium cabins on the TIFF flights will receive American’s dedicated VIP Flagship curbside check-in and access to the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge at both airports.
American, United and Delta are locked in an intense competition for the lucrative entertainment industry travelers out of Los Angeles and are pouring on the perks on the ground and in the air.
American recently installed a private door for VIP check-in at Terminal 4 (all first-class passengers get Flagship check-in at LAX through a private entrance with expedited security). The airline also offers complimentary transfers between terminals at LAX via chauffeured Cadillacs for all first-class passengers with tight connections 16 hours daily each day. (United and Delta offer similar services in partnerships with Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.)
