After his appearance as a pompous anchor in Bruce Almighty, Carell played a dimwitted weatherman in Adam McKay's iconic comedy Anchorman. Carell is currently gearing up to start filming a sequel, due out in 2013.

Paramount has set Dec. 20, 2013, for the release Anchorman 2, the sequel to the 2004 cult hit comedy starring Will Ferrell.
The movie reunites the principals of the first movie — Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate — in more newsrooms high jinks.

Adam McKay is back as director.
The original Anchorman grossed $85 million domestically. It received a big boost on DVD, becoming ingrained in pop culture.
