Academy award nominee, lip sync sensation, Twitter favorite and now … author. Is there anything Anna Kendrick can’t do?
The Pitch Perfect star has signed to write a collection of humorous autobiographical essays, publisher Touchstone announced Thursday.
The untitled book will be published in Fall 2016.
The collection of essays, penned with Kendrick’s trademark wit and humor, will recount her life from her middle-class upbringing in Maine to her blockbuster success in movies like Up in The Air, Twilight and Pitch Perfect and focus on the absurdities she experienced in that journey.
“I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness and the frequency with which I embarrass myself,” said Kendrick in statement from Touchstone.
“And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea,” the statement read. “Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!”
Kendrick was represented by CAA on the book deal. Editor Lauren Spiegel acquired the project for Touchstone.
