Oscar-winning film editor Anne V. Coates is set to be honored by the L.A. Film Critics Association.
Coates, who nabbed the film-editing Oscar for her work on 1963’s Lawrence of Arabia, will receive the group’s career achievement award at a Jan. 9 event. The news was announced on Saturday at the critics group’s meeting.
The 89-year-old Coates has earned four additional Academy Award nominations for Becket (1965), The Elephant Man (1980), In the Line of Fire (1993) and Out of Sight (1998). She received the BAFTA’s academy fellowship in 2007.
Her latest credit was on this year’s Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed hit Fifty Shades of Grey.
Last year’s LAFCA career achievement award went to Gena Rowlands.
