Anthony Vaccarello is officially on board to work with Donatella Versace for her next capsule collection of Versace’s diffusion line, Versus Versace.
The 31-year-old Belgian designer fits right in for the job with his designs of skin-tight sexy, sultry dresses — fitting for the brand of show-stopping sex appeal and star quality (think Angelina Jolie‘s right “leg” dress). The ready-to-wear and accessories collection will debut at a special event, with details to follow in 2014.

“I am so excited to be collaborating with Donatella on this collection for Versus Versace,” said Vaccarello in a statement. “Versace is a house that has always used extraordinary techniques to create its bold, contemporary fashion. I feel like we share a similar spirit, so for me it is a dream collaboration.”
According to Vogue, Vaccarello has been obsessed with the fashion house since he was young. When they finalized the deal — which took place over lunch in Gianni Versace‘s former apartment — he expressed being “so emotional” when he inked the contract.
“Anthony’s clothes have everything that I love: they are sensual, dynamic, daring,” said Donatella. “He is a natural, and has the confidence and talent to push fashion where he wants it and where it is relevant for today’s women. I can’t wait to collaborate with him, and to see Versus Versace through his eyes.” Vaccarello’s own collection has been seen on Gisele Bundchen, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Kylie Minogue, to name a few.
Previous Versus Versace collections include designs by recording artist M.I.A. and British designer-of-the-moment J.W. Anderson, who is credited with reviving the formerly stale-ish label and turning it into a downtown staple. Heidi Klum, Hayden Panettiere, Darren Criss and Joe Jonas were among the stars to step out for Anderson’s Versus Versace collection launch party in May.
