Archer‘s spy agency is getting a name change.
The FX series is abandoning the name ISIS, an acronym it had used for its International Secret Intelligence Service for the past five seasons.
The change comes in light of recent headlines involving the jihadist group of the same name, show creator Adam Reed confirmed to the Daily Beast.
“We were waiting for it to go away — at least I was,” Reed said about news involving the real-life ISIS. He explained that FX first suggested during the show’s fifth season that the name might become an issue.

The change will be referenced in the show’s upcoming season-six premiere, as a sign with the ISIS logo on it will be shown getting rolled away by two movers in the background of a scene. This will be the last reference to ISIS on the show.
“[ISIS is] just the most awful thing, and we didn’t want to have anything to do with it,” executive producer Matt Thompson added.
