The curators may insist otherwise, but Art Basel is all about the parties. Officially taking place Thursday, December 4th through Sunday, December 7th, the hubbub of events start up on Tuesday and don’t stop till the wee hours of the famed art festival’s last day. But for those looking to fine-tune their party schedules, here’s a top ten list of what to hit — pending an invite, that is.
Tuesday, Dec. 2
“i feel ya: SCAD + Andre 3000 Benjamin” Opening
Start your time at Art Basel off right with a show presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design, featuring Andre 3000‘s jumpsuits alongside work by artists Greg Brunkalla and and Jimmy O’Neal.

Performa’s 10th Anniversary and Ryan McNamara’s “ME3M 4 Miami: A Story Ballet About the Internet” Party
The Brooklyn-based artist brings a very un-ballet-like ballet to the Miami Grand Theater (the old Playboy Theater) during Art Basel, but first, a celebration: Performa commiserates their 10th year and McNamara fetes his work with the help of Maserati, Artnet and Interview Magazine the night before the performances begin.

W Stories Book Launch Party
W Magazine has published a hardcover photography tome, and to celebrate the glossy mag’s EIC Stefano Tonchi, Ferragamo creative director tk and supermodel icon Linda Evangelista are hosting a glittery cocktail party before W’s bigger rager happening later that evening. The Misshapes will perform and word on the street is that A$AP Rocky may pop by, too.

The W Magazine Art Issue Celebration Party
Stefano Tonchi and Ian Schrager – who has much to celebrate due to the recent opening of the new Miami Beach Edition – will host an evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing and a performance by Blood Orange – where else? – at Shrager’s new hotel.

Wednesday, Dec. 3
Design Miami’s Design Visionary Award Dinner, Celebrating Peter Marino
The designer and architect will be honored with the Design Visionary Award from Design Miami, which nicely compliments Marino’s recent display of work: A sprawling exhibit at the Bass Museum by and inspired by the leather-clad artist.

V Magazine Presents Miley Cyrus at The Raleigh
The publication’s glossy editorials are nearly as good as their raucous parties. Tommy Hilfiger, Jeffrey Deitch, and V Magazine’s current cover-girl Miley Cyrus host a party at The Raleigh complete with a performance by the songstress, promising this party to potentially be the tightest door in town.

Thursday, Dec. 4
The Snarkitecture Marble Run with Usher and Daniel Arsham
Daniel Arsham is no stranger to musicians having collaborated with Pharrell in the past, but this year the contemporary artist partners with Usher for a dinner in his hometown, followed by a party at Le Baron’s pop-up space.

Dom Perignon Metamorphosis Party
What would Art Basel be without Dom Perignon’s annual late-night soiree? This year, International gadabouts Vito Schnabel (ex of Demi, current beau to Heidi), Stavros Niarchos (beau of Jessica Stam) and Alex Dellal (former flame of Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco) play hosts.

5th Annual Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Finale
Each year during Basel, Bombay Sapphire, Russell Simmons and Danny Simmons invite a mix of celebrities and art industry influencers to celebrate and engage with the 12 finalists of the annual Artisan Series competition before announcing the program’s national winner. This year, the Simmons plan on drawing quite a crowd – (including Wiz Khalifa, model Emily Ratajowski and Miguel, who will perform) to commemorate their program’s 5th anniversary, which will also kick-off the 20th Anniversary milestone of Rush Philanthropic in 2015.

Friday, Dec. 5
MoMA PS1 PResents Zero Tolerance/James Blake
YoungArts pairs up with MoMA PS1, who will bring its Zero Tolerance exhibition down to Miami. R&B singer James Blake will add to the atmosphere, and expect an audience of the nonprofit contemporary art institution’s high-profile supporters.

Jack Shainman Gallery Party with Solange Knowles and DJ Kemit
For those winding down their time at Art Basel on Friday, here’s a way to do it: Solange Knowles and DJ Kemit will team up at Jack Shainman Gallery’s annual beachside soiree at the Surfcomber Hotel. Bonus: Hank Willis Thomas and The Cause Collective’s In Search of the Truth will be on display.
