Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence star in the space-bound drama, which is set on a spacecraft transporting thousands of passengers in cryogenic sleep to a distant new planet. The film centers on two passengers that wake up 90 years too early.
Perrineau will play the role of Lawrence’s character’s best friend.
The Imitation Game helmer Morten Tyldum will direct the project, which co-stars Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne.
Perrineau starred in last year’s Jem and the Holograms and will be seen in the upcoming dystopian love story Equals, starring Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart.
Perrineau is repped by APA and Atlas Artists.
