Actor Verne Troyer says he is receiving treatment for alcohol addiction and is thanking fans for their support.
The 48-year-old actor is best known for playing Mini-Me in two Austin Powers films. A post on his Facebook page Thursday states the actor has been undergoing unspecified treatment for the past week and will voluntarily transfer to another facility soon.
“As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day. I’ve been receiving treatment for the last week and I am voluntarily checking into a treatment center later this week to continue to get the help that I need,” Troyer’s post reads.
He thanked fans for their support and asked for privacy.
