Backstreet Boys and Avril Lavigne are linking up for a summer tour of North American amphitheaters. BSB announced the dates during an appearance of Good Morning America on Friday.

Lavigne’s slot as the opener on the tour is more than a little dubious: Both BSB and Lavigne released albums last year, and while Avril Lavigne has sold 125,000 copies since November according to Nielsen SoundScan, In A World Like This has sold 110,000 copies since July. BSB has been on the road supporting In a World Like This since August, receiving support from artists like Jesse McCartney, DJ Pauly D and B5.
