The new NBC sitcom Bad Judge appears to be in need of some behind-the-scenes order.
Bad Judge showrunner Liz Brixius has exited the show, NBC confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Deadline first reported her departure.
The series, set to premiere Oct. 2, stars Kate Walsh as a strict judge who loves to party when she’s not behind the bench. Her life is about to undergo a lot more scrutiny, thanks to an 8-year-old boy whose parents she sent to jail.
Brixius joined Bad Judge in May after signing a two-year development deal with NBC in 2012. She created Girlfriend in a Coma for NBC, but the sitcom fell apart and never made it to air after Christina Ricci dropped out of the title role last year.
Brixius co-created Showtime’s Nurse Jackie with Linda Wallem but left the series after its fourth season.
