LONDON — This year’s EE British Academy Film Awards, the U.K.’s most prestigious movie nods, is going global with over 130 territories inking deals to broadcast the show.
The awards, dished out by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), will also air live on the U.K. public broadcaster BBC One and BBC One HD, preceded by a red carpet show on BBC Three.

The winners will be presented at a ceremony scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in the British capital.
The awards ceremony will be followed by a swanky official black-tie dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane.
The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry and will be broadcast on BBC America in the US.
There are also deals in place for the show to hit screens across Africa, Asia, Canada, Latin America, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand, an uptick of 16 territories from last year.
The 16 territories are all deals with broadcasters in Africa, a continent which hasn’t carried the awards since the 2010 ceremony.
“Deals are still being done,” a BAFTA spokesperson said.
Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, is selling the EE British Academy Film Awards show.

Organizers also noted the show was hitting the web and social media bigger than ever.
On the night, www.bafta.org will feature red carpet highlights, photography and winners’ interviews, as well as dedicated coverage on its social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest.
Lincoln leads the pact of nominations for this year’s awards, presented by BAFTA and sponsored by cellphone giant EE, with 10 nominations, including Best Film.
