Shooting on Mission: Impossible 5 in London could well be put on brief hold for one evening should Tom Cruise ditch his spy equipment, don his tux and head to the BAFTAs.
The actor isn’t up for an award, but following reports in the U.K. press a spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that organizers of the awards ceremony were trying to get Cruise to appear as one of the presenters at the ceremony.

Another planned special guest is Stephen Hawking, whose life is the focus of The Theory of Everything, up for 10 honors on Sunday including for best film, best leading actor and best leading actress.
Confirmed guests include nominees Amy Adams, Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Ethan Hawke, Felicity Jones, Michael Keaton, Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Julianne Moore, Edward Norton, Jack O’Connell, Rosamund Pike, Eddie Redmayne, Rene Russo, Mark Ruffalo, J.K. Simmons, Imelda Staunton and Reese Witherspoon.

David Beckham, John Boyega, Martin Freeman and Natalie Dormer are also among the confirmed attendees.
Stephen Fry will be hosting the awards for the 10th time.
