Considering Kim Kardashian — along with her sisters — is a prominent, longtime member of the Balmain “army,” it seems only right that its hot young designer, Olivier Rousteing, would return the favor and join the reality star’s overwhelmingly popular “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” game. Indeed, that pairing is now official. Coincidentally, the designer recently stated he’d like to lower Balmain’s prices, so perhaps this is part of a plan to expose more people to the label.
Rousteing, who’s also been spotted spending time with stars like Justin Bieber, Kris Jenner and Jourdan Dunn, makes a cameo in the game on Monday. He’ll be popping up in the game to reveal a collection of fall 2015 pieces from the women’s and men’s lines. Meanwhile, a new mission in the game has players striving to become the next face of Balmain Paris through fashion show and modeling challenges.
Of course, it’s only a game — no real contract to be won there. But it seems with every new addition (Karl Lagerfeld was a guest star in November, and the game app will also include a boutique of his spring 2016 collection) the game further blurs the lines of what’s real and virtual. According to WWD, Kardashian brainstorms new content with Glu Mobile CEO Niccolo de Masi every week or two. With Lagerfeld in November, and Balmain in December, who can we expect come January?
