After returning for a second on Black Friday with a huge sale on online retailer Filene’s Basement, Band of Outsiders is now making an official comeback after shuttering earlier this year. The brand will return for spring 2017, reports WWD. However, founder Scott Sternberg will not be part of the process.
Belgian holding company CLCC SA — which remains in control of the line after they failed to sell the the brand’s intellectual property and remaining inventory when they were unable to collect the $2 million that was owed — stated that Band of Outsiders will return to create a men’s and women’s line. The first collection is expected to unveil in September 2016 to buyers.

“We have recruited a collective of ambitious, highly skilled fashion designers as well as merchandisers, graphic designers and key support staff to launch Band of Outsiders for the spring 2017 season,” CLCC managing director Antony Verbaeys told WWD. “It is our aim to have our collections present in the best international boutiques, but with a strong anchor in Los Angeles for which we are exploring opportunities.”
According to the fashion trade, Sternberg “stressed he is not involved” with the brand’s revamp, with many of his former employees also reportedly opting out of the new Band of Outsiders.
