Barry Pepper and Umbrella Academy star Colm Feore are set to star in Trigger Point, an action thriller from High Park Entertainment and Landmark Studio Group.
Pepper will play the lead character, Nicolas Shaw, a retired U.S. special operative who becomes part of an elite “invisible” team that quietly takes out the worst villains around the world. After being blamed for the assassination of fellow team members, Shaw must clear his name and prevent the killing of a new generation of noble operatives.
Trigger Point is set to start production on Oct. 26 near Toronto, with Turner (24, Designated Survivor, Homeland) directing a screenplay by Michael Vickerman.
“Trigger Point has all the elements to become a global action movie franchise led by the talents of Barry Pepper, with Brad Turner directing and an all-star production team in Canada,” Landmark Studio Group’s David Ozer said in a statement.
Pepper is known for his work in such films as Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile and the Holocaust drama The Painted Bird, an adaptation of the novel by Jerzy Kosinski.
The executive producer credits are shared by Turner, Vickerman, Pepper, Jessica Petelle, Eric Birnberg, Thomas Walden, David Ozer, Tim Rouhana, David Fannon, Seth Needle, Conor McAdam and David Nagelberg.
Thomas Vencelides is producing. Landmark Studio Group will market the film.
