High school football player Apollos Hester has made headlines recently with an incredibly inspirational speech in an interview with TWC New Austin. It is an absolute must-watch; his enthusiasm oozes through the screen and makes you want to go do something amazing.
In honor of Hester, we decided to look back at some of the most memorable speeches from high school football movies and television shows. Watch below.
Remember the Titans (2000)
Denzel Washington as Coach Boone starts this speech-a-palooza which is picked up by player Julius Campbell and Coach Yoast, the latter of whom talks about the soul of a man. Even Ryan Gosling makes an appearance in the clip.

To shake things up a bit, here’s a clip where the person giving the speech is a mom, not a coach or player. Leigh Anne Tuohy tells Michael Oher his teammates are like his family, and he remembers that later on in another great moment from this film.
Friday Night Lights (TV) (2006-2011)
The top high school football orator of all time is Coach Eric Taylor. Listen to his fantastic speech about how at some point in our lives, we will all fall. And we will be tested to our very souls. Which, of course, will be the exact moment that defines us.
Imagine how much more you’d get done in life if you spoke with Coach Taylor daily. Seriously.
