Bette Midler reprised her role as one of the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus for a special occasion.
Attending the Hulaween Party on Friday to celebrate the 21st anniversary of New York’s Restoration Project, Midler arrived in full costume, complete with a sky-high orange wig and a broom to fly away on, delighting fans of the Halloween movie.
Midler played Winifred Sanderson in the 1993 Disney film, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who played her sisters Sarah and Mary. Directed by Kenny Ortega, the horror-fantasy comedy follows a teenage boy and tells the story of the Sanderson sisters, witches who are resurrected in Salem, Mass., on Halloween night.
Hocus Pocus recently screened at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, where Academy Award-nominated composer John Debney performed his new “Hocus Pocus Overture” on Oct. 21 in honor of the film.
