Black Panther will be airing twice this weekend on TBS in a tribute to its star Chadwick Boseman, who died on Friday from colon cancer at age 43.
Boseman stars in the tentpole film as T’Challa, who has returned home to Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film also stars Michael B. Jordan and Lupita N’yongo.
Black Panther was nominated for best picture at the 2019 Academy Awards. Boseman reprised his role of T’Challa in other Marvel films such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Black Panther will air on Aug. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and again on Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled the disease for four years. He died at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, and other family members.
Following Boseman’s death, Hollywood stars and industry figures such as Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Viola Davis, Kevin Feige, Mark Ruffalo, Dwayne Johnson and more took to social media to share statements and memories of the actor.
