Blair Rich has been tapped as president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros.
In her new position, Rich will oversee the development and execution of all the studios marketing campaigns, as well as full marketing oversight on releases from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.’ production partners, Alcon and MGM.
Prior to the promotion, the Georgetown grad served as executive vp worldwide marketing at the studio, assisting with the campaigns for films in the Harry Potter franchise and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films. She has been with Warner Bros for 19 years, starting with the company as a marketing trainee.
Rich is currently working on the campaigns for the studio’s big summer releases, including Tarzan and Suicide Squad, after which she will continue on to other highly anticipated projects, including the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the DC superhero films.
Rich will report to Sue Kroll, who on Monday extended her contract as president of worldwide marketing and distribution. She and Kroll will work on the larger, conceptual creation of the marketing campaigns, with Rich working on day-to-day development and execution.
“Blair is a dynamic marketing executive and so deserving of this expanded role,” Kroll said Wednesday in a statement. “Opening almost two dozen films a year is an enormous task for any marketing group, but Blair has demonstrated time and again the ability to keep sight of the big picture while managing the crucial details.”
